Hummingbird

I've been commissioned to paint a hummingbird and a flower on a Magic: The Gathering card (Birds of Paradise). I am really excited about this, however it has taken me a while to get down drawing the bird. So, after viewing thousands of birds and flowers, I am about ready to begin. I will keep you updated here on the progress.

Of course, this will have to wait until I get my phone in. I lost my phone on Saturday, procrastinated on getting a replacement until Tuesday, so hopefully I should be getting it in today sometime.

I have started a Kickstarter project. You can view it here.

Also, you have view my updates on my progress on both the Kickstarter funding as well as my progress in the books on my other blog.

Up to Now

Good morning! I am on my third cup of coffee on this fine Friday. I hope you all are doing as well as I am or better. But I'm doing pretty good. :)

This is the first in a series of posts that will follow my...quasi-artistic journey. I took art in high school, but that was about the end of it until earlier this year. I was pregnant with my fourth (and final) child, my only girl, Sophia, and my partner, John Burchett, got me into painting. It was selfishly suggested on his part, but, still. I have to give credit where credit is due.

So, at 30 years old, I have started watching Bob Ross, as well as YouTube videos, how-tos on Dragoart, etc. to try to get this down because, I have to say, I love it. It is very therapeudic and I have so many ideas. So, here are some of the ACEOs I have done so far, as well as some altered art on MTG cards, and some sketches.
